The NHS have launched a new campaign this week focusing on how we, the public, can support the emergency services.

As you will be aware, the NHS is currently experiencing a spike in demand for all our health services, which is in turn putting pressures on acute and emergency services, as well as primary care. Please click NHS 111 Campaign and Poster to find out more about how we can all help our NHS.

I have been a partner here in Burwell since 1997. While I am interested in most areas of medicine, I am also involved in our management of asthma and lung problems. I also particularly enjoy paediatrics and exercise medicine. I am a keen cyclist.

Dr Alex Manning

MB, ChB, MRCGP, DCH, DRCOPG, DFFP (Manchester 1992)Dr Alex Manning

I have been a GP here in Burwell since 2000.  Although as a GP I come across a wide range of problems, I have particular interest in diabetes – I run the diabetic clinic with Practice Nurse Angie and also Family Planning (I fit contraceptive coils and implants).  I have been a trustee of the Arthur Rank Hospice in Cambridge for several years and I feel that it is really important to be providing the best possible care for patients and their families who are dealing with a life limiting illness.  I also have a role in the financial management of the local NHS system representing the group of practices in the Ely area on the Cambridge and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).  Away from work I enjoy music (playing in a rock band) and long distance running.
